In 2005, Franck Dupuis decided to propose an alternative with a new brand. It will have to offer what was sometimes evidently lacking: quality and original designs.
In 2006, when he manages the development and marketing alone, he meets an old colleague of IBM to whom he proposes to become a partner. Jean-François Bandet in turn embarks on adventure. Both will develop the brand until summer 2014, a period in which Jean-François Bandet will decide to turn to a new entrepreneurial adventure.
The brands of that time sinned of lack of originality and, very often, of a defective quality. So, from the beginning, Venum has proposed products in total contrast to these two essential aspects. A Venum product had to be immediately recognizable.
From the end of 2006, to support commercial development, Venum quickly began sponsoring known fighters. Canadian Denis Kang, American Jeff Monson and Brazilian Pequeno were the first to join the Venum staff. Afterwards, the magic quartet formed by Wanderlei Silva, José Aldo, Lyoto Machida and Mauricio Shogun!
From 2006 to the end of 2009, the brand catalog consisted of textiles for MMA training (shorts, t-shirts and rash guards). During this period Venum also developed our first Brazilian Jiu-jitsu kimonos and a whole lifestyle range (sweatshirts, caps ...).
In late 2009, to better cover the needs of athletes, Venum decided to launch the first equipment.
In early 2010, he installed a development and production unit in Thailand to be able to market high-quality products at a reasonable price. Success has arrived. In fact, in only a few years, Venum has become the largest producer in Thailand and also the largest exporter, surpassing local brands.
From 2014 Venum decides to expand our catalog to new disciplines. Muay Thai has clearly established itself with the development of the textile line and equipment. Product development was done in collaboration with the best Nak Muay and Kickboxing fighters. The Venum staff is today the best equipped in the world with fighters such as Petrosyan, Sitthichai, Allazov, Doumbé ...
In parallel with Muay Thai, revitalization of our division of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. It was decided to restart in 2017 to re-launch a high-level kimono line on the market.
2018 will mark Venum's return to the very demanding universe of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
2018 is also the year of Venum's entry into the ultra demanding and elitist universe of the English garage. With prestigious brands (Linares, Berchelt, Estrada ...) and the launch of the Pro Boxing range, a real concentrate of technology that has required more than two years of development, Venum reaches the best equipment in the world. In 2019 with the entry of the best P4P boxer in the world V. Lomachenko and other great champions such as Gvozdyk, Besputin and Dadashev the ambition is simply to become the number 1 in English boxing!
To date there are also the lines dedicated to Karate, with high quality products, both for Kata and for Kumite.
